Syrah is a powerful red grape variety, best known from the northern Rhône and now cultivated worldwide. The wine is characterized by aromas of blackberries, black pepper, spices, and sometimes a hint of chocolate or smoked meat. In warmer regions, the wine becomes fuller and riper in flavor, while cooler climates lend more elegance and spiciness. Syrah pairs excellently with grilled meats, barbecue dishes, stews, and game.
