Tasting Notes Estandon Gris des Seigneurs
A very fresh and pleasant rosé with pronounced aromas of red and exotic fruits. Think strawberry, raspberry, peach, and a hint of grapefruit, complemented by a subtle spiciness. On the palate, the wine is lively and juicy, with fresh notes of strawberry, lemon, peach, and grapefruit. The long, elegant finish brings back the fruit beautifully. In short: a delicious Provence rosé with character and a playful aroma reminiscent of candy (English licorice).
Wine & Food
Gris des Seigneurs rosé is delicious as an aperitif, with (raw vegetable) salads, various grilled fish dishes and light poultry or simply as an enjoyable wine with a sunset.
Additional Information
The location of the vineyards is magnificent! The many hours of sunshine combined with its location on the Mediterranean Sea ensure that the grapes grow exceptionally well.
Gris des Seigneurs comes from Vignerons Estandon, one of the top producers from the Côtes de Provence for decades. They export to more than 50 different countries and thus have an excellent idea of what consumers demand from them. The wine has won several awards in house wine competitions.
This rosé wine is a blend of different grape varieties, including Grenache, Cinsault, and Syrah, which contribute to the distinctive taste of this wine.
Grenache: Originally from Spain, but now widely planted in Southern France. Brings fruitiness and suppleness.
Cinsault: Light, fruity grape with low tannins, ideal for fresh rosé wines. Widely used in Provence.
Syrah: Deep-colored grape with powerful aromas. Contributes to structure and spiciness, even in small quantities.
Fun Fact
The name 'Gris' refers to the refined, light salmon-pink color of the wine? By allowing the skins of the red grapes to macerate for only a very short time, an elegant rosé is created with great freshness, subtle red fruit, and a wonderfully summery character.
