Niederösterreich
Niederösterreich (Lower Austria) is Austria's largest and most important wine region. The area stretches along the Danube River and includes famous sub-regions such as Wachau, Kamptal, Kremstal, and Wagram. Thanks to the interplay of a favorable climate, large day-night temperature differences, and diverse soils, wines with great freshness, finesse, and character are produced here.
The region is particularly famous for Grüner Veltliner and Riesling, but grape varieties such as Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, and Zweigelt also produce beautiful wines here. The fresh acidity, pure fruit expression, and excellent aging potential make Niederösterreich one of Europe's most esteemed wine regions.
At Vechtstreek Wijnen, you will find a carefully selected assortment of Austrian quality wines, including those from Niederösterreich.
