Tasting Notes Terre Métissée Red Blend
The aroma is intense, aromatic, and filled with Kirsch cherries, blackberries, and black currants. The wine has a somewhat thicker and velvety mouthfeel. A unique blend of seven grapes. This red Frenchman is dark red in color and has a firm structure.
Wine & Food
Terre Métissée is delicious with red meat or game dishes, such as venison from the Big Green Egg, a burger, or a cheese board. But this blend also pairs surprisingly well with Asian cuisine. Bon appétit!
Additional Information
This firm and velvety Terre Métissée is a blend of Malbec, Braucol, Négrette, Grenache, Carignan, Mourvèdre, and Syrah grapes. This wine is the French answer to Malbec wines from Argentina.
Red wine vinification with long skin maceration for optimal color extraction. The wine ferments and matures in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. During maturation, the wine has 2 months of contact with wood chips. Ready to drink now, but can be cellared for several more years.
Vinovalie is a unique collaboration between four cellars in Southwest France: Rabastens (Gaillac), Técou (Gaillac), Côtes d’Olt (Cahors), and Fronton. They have joined forces like four musketeers to tackle the challenges of our time. Utilizing often unique circumstances and respecting local traditions, modern wines are made that align well with contemporary taste preferences.
Fun fact
Terre Métissée means "mixed land" or "land of blending." The wine literally originated from bringing together different wine traditions and terroirs from Southwest France and Languedoc. Vinovalie and Dom Brial collaborated to combine seven grape varieties and four different terroirs.
And that makes the name perfectly apt: different grapes, different regions, and different wine traditions come together in one bottle.
