Tasting Notes Domaine de Castelnau Syrah Cayenne
This Syrah is wonderfully spicy (garrigue), juicy, and packed with cassis fruit without being heavy. The nose offers fresh red fruit and a slight spiciness (garrigue). The attack is quite firm due to the tannins, but it is followed by ripe fruit, sweet spices, and the wine finishes wonderfully juicy. Sparkling red color.

Domaine de Castelnau is located in the southernmost part of France, between Béziers and Montpellier. They named this 100% Syrah "Cayenne," a French term for harsh conditions and a reference to the vineyards where these grapes grow: poor and difficult to cultivate. But that's where the best wines come from, because grapevines have to work for their nutrients. That's when they produce the best grapes. You can taste that in your glass because, for this price, there are few wines that offer so much pleasure!
