The Coastal Region is one of South Africa's most important wine regions, encompassing well-known wine areas such as Stellenbosch, Paarl, and Swartland. Due to the influence of the Atlantic Ocean, the vineyards benefit from cooling sea breezes, which help the grapes retain their freshness and aroma. The region produces a wide variety of quality wines, from fresh Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay to powerful red wines made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Pinotage. Thanks to its enormous diversity, the Coastal Region is among the absolute best in South African viticulture.
