Vinho Verde

Vinho Verde is located in the green northwest of Portugal and is famous for its fresh, fruity, and lively white wines. The name literally means 'green wine,' but it does not refer to the color of the wine. It stands for the youthful, fresh style in which the wines are enjoyed.

Thanks to the cool Atlantic climate, the grapes retain their natural freshness, resulting in wines with aromas of citrus, green apple, and tropical fruit. Commonly used grape varieties include Alvarinho, Loureiro, Arinto, and Trajadura. Vinho Verde is a perfect accompaniment to fish, crustaceans, shellfish, salads, and light summer dishes.
