Vinovalie
Vinovalie is a cooperative of approximately 400 winegrowers in Southwest France, established in 2006 from the merger of four wine cooperatives. Together, they represent three characteristic wine regions: Cahors, Fronton, and Gaillac.
It is precisely this combination that makes Vinovalie special. Each region has its own terroir and typical grape varieties. Cahors is known as the historical home of Malbec, Fronton for its unique Négrette, and Gaillac for its great diversity of grape varieties and wine styles.
Vinovalie combines the knowledge and experience of its affiliated winegrowers with modern winemaking techniques and actively invests in research and development. This includes everything from work in the vineyard to the final wine.
Vinovalie's philosophy is reminiscent of the region's rugby culture: collaboration, knowledge sharing, and achieving the best results as a team. The name Ovalie therefore refers to the French rugby heart of Southwest France.
The three wine regions
Cahors
The region of Malbec. Cahors is located along the Lot River and is one of the historical birthplaces of this grape.
Fronton
Near Toulouse and primarily known for Négrette, a characteristic grape that gives Fronton a very distinctive character.
Gaillac
One of France's oldest wine regions, with a great variety of terroirs and indigenous grape varieties such as Duras, Braucol, Mauzac, and Loin de l'Oeil.
Tarani
One of Vinovalie's best-known brands is Tarani. The name refers to a Gallic potter from the region who, about 2,000 years ago, made amphorae in which wine was transported. The Tarani brand itself has now existed for 20 years and consciously uses this ancient history in its identity.
Fun fact
Fun fact: Vinovalie was formed from four cooperatives, but its name was inspired by Ovalie, the nickname for the French rugby region. The idea behind it is simple: just like in rugby, you achieve more together than alone.
