Feudo Arancio – Sicilian wines full of character
Feudo Arancio is a modern Sicilian winery known for accessible, characterful wines that clearly reflect the sunny climate and the various terroirs of Sicily. The winery is located in the south of the island and works with both well-known international grape varieties and typical Sicilian varieties.
Sicily is one of Italy's most important wine regions. The warm, sunny climate is tempered by the influences of the Mediterranean Sea, allowing grapes to ripen optimally while the wines retain their freshness.
Vineyards in Sicily
Feudo Arancio's vineyards are spread across different parts of Sicily. An important area is Acate, in the southeast of the island. Here, the vineyards benefit from many hours of sunshine, but also from cooling influences from the Mediterranean Sea.
The combination of sun, cooling wind, and different soil types creates diverse conditions. This allows Feudo Arancio to produce both fresh white wines and rich, aromatic red wines.
Sicilian grape varieties
Feudo Arancio works with various grape varieties that are well suited to the Sicilian climate. Well-known local varieties include Grillo, Nero d'Avola, and Inzolia. In addition, international grape varieties such as Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, and Cabernet Sauvignon are used.
Grillo in particular is a beautiful example of Feudo Arancio's Sicilian identity. This white grape produces aromatic and fresh wines with notes of citrus, tropical fruit, and flowers.
Nero d'Avola is also important for the winery. This typical Sicilian red grape is known for its ripe fruit, spiciness, and full character.
Modern wine style
Although Feudo Arancio is strongly connected to the Sicilian wine tradition, the emphasis is on a modern and accessible wine style. Fruit, freshness, and drinking pleasure are central.
The wines are therefore versatile and attractive for both novice wine lovers and experienced wine drinkers.
Fun fact
Sicily is the largest island in the Mediterranean Sea and one of Italy's largest wine regions. Due to the warm climate, grapes can ripen exceptionally well here, while the sea provides cooling. That is an important reason why Sicily produces so many different grape varieties and wine styles.
