Tasting Notes Feudo Arancio Accussi Sparkling
Sparkling wine with fresh aromatic white and tropical fruit (pear, melon) and floral notes of acacia and magnolia on the nose. The taste is soft with fresh acidity, with tropical fruit (mango) coming strongly to the fore. A pleasant sparkling wine that can be used broadly. Soft yellow color with a greenish hue.
Wine & Food
Feudo Arancio Accussi Sparkling pairs perfectly with fish, fresh and lightly aged cheeses, fruits, mango, vegetable appetizers, and main courses with grilled fish.
Additional information
This sparkling wine, Accussì, made from the local Grillo grape, is extremely elegant and pleasant to drink, and can be enjoyed as an aperitif, as well as with a variety of snacks and dishes.
Vinification
Pressing: After harvesting, the grapes are destemmed and undergo a gentle pressing to separate the juice from the skins.
First fermentation: The clear juice ferments in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks at a low temperature. This ensures that the delicate aromas of white fruit and tropical fruit are preserved.
Second fermentation (Charmat method): The sparkling bubbles are created by a second alcoholic fermentation in large, sealed stainless steel pressure tanks. Because the carbon dioxide cannot escape, it dissolves into the wine, creating a fine, soft mousse.
Bottling: After the short tank fermentation under pressure, the wine is clearly filtered and immediately bottled with an 'extra dry' dosage, which provides a slightly sweet and fruity mouthfeel instead of a bone-dry style.
Since 2001, Mezzacorona has owned the Sicilian Feudo Arancio, and its vineyard holdings have grown to nearly 700 hectares, spread across the southern part of the island. Here too, there is a strong focus on sustainability, and the wines are made with the most modern means. The winery has two vineyards on the island, allowing them to optimally benefit from the differences in aromas and freshness when composing the wines.

Fun fact
Accussì is not standard Italian, but a word from the local Sicilian dialect. It means something like "Exactly like that!" or "In this way!". It's a nod from the winemakers that this is exactly how they want to present a refreshing, Sicilian sparkling wine.
