Tasting Note Feudo Arancio Floridea Grillo/Chardonnay
An elegant and refined white wine from Sicily, combining the indigenous Grillo with the international Chardonnay. The aroma is fresh and aromatic, with tropical fruit, citrus, and light floral notes, complemented by subtle spiciness and a hint of custard.
On the palate, the wine is round and soft, but thanks to the fresh acidity of Grillo, it remains beautifully lively. The Chardonnay provides extra structure, creaminess, and length. The finish is remarkably persistent, with ripe fruit and a light spicy touch.
Wine & Food
Feudo Arancio Floridea Grillo/Chardonnay is a versatile white wine that pairs well with baked fish, shellfish, chicken, light pasta dishes, and salads. It is also an excellent choice as an aperitif and with snacks.
Further Information
The Floridea is part of the Selezioni, Feudo Arancio's more exclusive line. The interesting thing about this blend is that you get two grapes that you wouldn't expect to see together so easily.
The Grillo is processed and fermented under oxygen-free conditions, after which it is stored at low temperatures in stainless steel. This preserves the fresh and aromatic characteristics of the grape.
After harvesting, the Chardonnay is also cool fermented, first in steel and then in uncharred wood. The wine remains in contact with the yeasts there for several months. The wood provides oxygen contact and extra structure, but because it is not roasted, the wine does not acquire a heavy toast or vanilla flavor.
The grapes come from vineyards with a calcareous subsoil. For Grillo, the influence of the salty seawater also plays a role, which, according to Feudo Arancio, contributes to the characteristic juiciness and salty freshness of the grape.

Fun Fact
Grillo is a true Sicilian, while Chardonnay has traveled the world. In this Floridea, these two worlds come together: Grillo provides the typical Sicilian freshness and citrus, Chardonnay for the international elegance and structure.
