Tasting Notes Feudo Arancio Pinot Noir
A delightfully juicy glass with aromas of dark berries, baking spices, and underbrush. The palate offers ripe blackberries, toasted flavors, and a hint of rhubarb alongside soft tannins. A very quaffable wine.
Wine & Food
Delicious to drink on its own, but also pairs well with flavorful dishes such as pasta with a ragout. Also suitable with North African spiced dishes. Or with some lightly aged semi-soft cheeses like Reblochon and Kernhem. Optionally chill slightly for even more fruit.
Additional Information
They already had a lot of experience with Pinot Noir at the parent company Mezzacorona in Alto Adige. So they were confident in planting this popular grape in Sicily. Excellent vineyard management, precise harvest times, and low-temperature vinification techniques resulted in a wonderfully juicy glass with aromas of dark berries, baking spices, and underbrush. The palate offers ripe blackberries and a hint of rhubarb alongside soft tannins. A fine, elegant wine that embodies the intensity of Sicily, with drinkability being paramount.
Feudo Arancio is part of the large Gruppo Mezzacorona. Mezzacorona, founded in 1904 in Alto Adige, was one of the first cooperatives in Italy and is still the best example of how the interests of farmers and the production of quality wines reinforce each other.
Since 2001, Mezzacorona has owned the Sicilian Feudo Arancio (orange villa) and the vineyard area has grown to almost 700 hectares, spread across the southern part of the island. Here too, there is much attention to sustainability and the wines are made with the most modern equipment.
