Tasting Notes Feudo Arancio Hedonis Riserva

Complex in aroma and taste: from dried red fruit, anise and spices to dark chocolate, almond, vanilla, and tobacco. The latter is due to aging in wood. The wine feels wonderfully velvety. With lots of juice and soft, sweetish tannins. A thick, full Southern Italian with an intense ruby red color and purple hues. Sunny Sicilian red.

Wine & Food Pairing

Feudo Arancio Hedonis Riserva is an excellent food wine. Choose dishes with a rich flavor. A piece of red meat from the barbecue, a hearty grilled fish, or a cheese board with aged cheeses.

Additional Information

The vineyards of Feudo Arancio are located on the southern coast of sunny Sicily, in Sambuca di Sicilia and Acate. It is part of one of Italy's largest and most prominent wine companies: Mezzacorona. The name Feudo Arancio is derived from the nearby lake 'Lago Arancio' (orange lake). In 2001, it was acquired by Mezzacorona in a very neglected state. The vineyards were uprooted and the winery demolished.

No expense or effort was spared to build a new, modern winery and establish new vineyards, complete with an irrigation system. The winery is designed as an homage to Sicilian traditions, with great respect for the environment and nature. Sustainability is a top priority: from solar panels to reducing the use of chemical agents and focusing on recycling. The wines are harmonious, full of character, and reflect the temperament and characteristics of Sicily: the sun, the sea, and nature.
