False Bay Chardonnay is a rich and full-bodied wine with delicious exotic fruit notes like peach and lime. The aroma offers notes of apple, pear, peach, lime, nuts, and toast. The finish is full, creamy, and long. Due to the limestone soils, the wine has a beautiful minerality. Yellow color. The wine has not undergone oak aging.

Other information

The wines are made at the Waterkloof Estate. In 2004, this magnificent wine estate was purchased by Paul Boutinot. Waterkloof is located on the Schaapenberg in Somerset West, Stellenbosch, South Africa, only three kilometers from the ocean.

The vineyards for the Waterkloof wines are located on the upper slopes of this estate, 300 meters above sea level. They are characterized by their mineral character and elegant style. The estate operates completely biodynamically.

This False Bay Chardonnay is made from old vines that yield concentrated fruit. No yeast is added, which leads to a slow fermentation and gives the wine a complex character. Due to the organic way of working, the winemaker opts for natural and wild fermentation. This results in a slower but finer fermentation process, yielding more elegant wines.
