Additional Information
Sauvignon Blanc originates from France. We frequently encounter this grape in the Loire wine region in northern France, where Sancerre and Pouilly Fumé are famous. However, Sauvignon is also found in New Zealand, where the grape gives the wine even fresher, more vibrant, and exotic notes.
The Sauvignon Blanc grape variety is one of the best-known and most used grape varieties for the production of white wine. This grape variety is cultivated worldwide and is famous for its fresh, acidic taste with notes of green apple, lime, and passion fruit. Sauvignon Blanc wines are usually dry, which makes them perfect for a warm summer day.
The Tarani vineyards are located in Comté Tolosan in the Sud-Ouest region, around Toulouse. Comté Tolosan includes three characteristic Sud-Ouest appellations: Cahors, Fronton, and Gaillac. The region is located just north of Toulouse along the Tarn and Garonne rivers and has a particularly long winegrowing tradition. The soil consists of sand, clay, and alluvial river soil.
Modern white wine vinification with a short maceration of the skins before pressing. This is followed by fermentation at a low temperature (16 degrees). Maturation takes place in stainless steel tanks.
This Tarani Sauvignon Blanc is best enjoyed as young as possible, at least within 2 years of harvest.
Fun fact
Sauvignon Blanc is often associated with the Loire and New Zealand, but Southwest France also produces surprisingly accessible wines from it. The Tarani especially showcases the tropical side of the grape, with mango, melon, and star fruit.
