The vineyards of Tarani are located in the Comté Tolosan in the Sud-Ouest region around Toulouse. The Comté Tolosan contains three characteristic Sud-Ouest appellations: Cahors, Fronton, and Gaillac. The region is located just north of Toulouse along the Tarn and Garonne rivers and has a particularly long winemaking tradition. The soil consists of sand, clay, and alluvial river soil.
