Complex aroma with many fruit influences such as peach, lemon, grapefruit and mandarin, supported by the spice and toast effects of the oak. The palate is creamy with ripe white fruit and mineral accents. Pleasantly fresh citrus fruit in the finish with great length that demands respect. Straw yellow in color with a green hue.

This organic Esporão Reserva white is delicious with poultry, grilled fish (turbot & sea bass), shellfish, veal, sweet and sour pork, Thai stir-fry with pineapple or with mature cheese.

Other information

The Alentejo region is characterized by summers with very hot days followed by strong cooling at night, followed by an extremely cold winter for Portugal. These ingredients, combined with volcanic soil and local grape varieties, form the basis for highly original wines. The history of the Esporão estate dates back to the Bronze Age. During the Roman occupation, the wines were already being exported throughout the Roman Empire.

The Esporão is made about 180 kilometers south of Lisbon in Reguengos de Monsaraz. The Herdade do Esporão winery is led by Australian winemaker David Baverstock

Esporão Reserva White is one of the better white wines from Portugal. Eight years in a row in the final of the Proefschrift wine competition and winner of just as many awards. Served in top restaurants like Ciel Bleu and Toine Hermsen. Very broadly gastronomically applicable. Unprecedented value for this price!
