Complex aroma with many fruit influences such as peach, lemon, grapefruit, and mandarin, supported by the spice and toast effect of the oak. The taste is creamy with ripe white fruit and mineral accents. Pleasantly fresh citrus fruit in the finish and an incredibly long length. Straw yellow in color with a green tinge.

Wine & Food

This organic Esporão Reserva white is delicious with poultry, grilled fish (turbot & sea bass), shellfish, veal, kuluyuk, Thai stir-fry with pineapple, or with ripe cheese.

Additional information

The Alentejo region is characterized by a summer of very hot days with a strong cooling at night, followed by a winter that is extremely cold for Portugal. These ingredients, combined with volcanic soil and local grape varieties, form the basis of very original wines. The history of the Esporão estate dates back to the Bronze Age. During the Roman occupation, the wines were already exported throughout the Roman Empire.

The Esporão is made about 180 kilometers south of Lisbon in Reguengos de Monsaraz. The Herdade do Esporão winery is led by Australian winemaker David Baverstock.

Esporão Reserva White is one of the best white wines from Portugal. For eight years in a row in the final of the Proefschrift wine competition and winner of as many awards. Served in top restaurants such as Ciel Bleu and Toine Hermsen. Very versatile gastronomically. Unprecedented amount of wine for this price!

Unique to the Reserva line is that each year the label is designed by a different Portuguese artist.
