Tasting Notes Vincente Gandia Bobal Negro
This Bobal Negro from Vincente Gandia has aromas of rich red fruit and caramel with light smoky notes. On the palate, it is complex and full-bodied, finishing with light notes of oak due to barrel aging. Intense red color with a purple rim.
Wine & Food
Bobal Negro is perfect to combine with grilled fish or classic rice dishes like Paella, but also delicious with red meat, meat tapas, and Manchego.
Additional information
The Utiel Requena vineyards are located inland from the larger production area near the East Coast in Valencia.
The responsible winery Vicente Gandia encourages its winemakers to produce adventurous and unusual wines like this, alongside traditional varieties. Since 1885, the Valencian Gandia family has been active in the wine trade throughout Europe. It wasn't until the 1960s that they started bottling their own wine.
They were the first winery in the wider area of Valencia. Today, they produce wine in almost all of Spain, from Rioja, Rueda, Rias Baixas, Ribera del Duero to Priorat.
50% of the wine underwent malolactic fermentation in French oak barrels, followed by 12 months of aging in lightly toasted French oak.
