This accessible, fruity Vajra Dolcetto d'Alba is inviting and charming, with aromas of wild berries and mulberry on the nose, complemented by notes of white pepper, sweet spices, and fresh thyme. Full of juicy fruit on the palate, with notes of dark fruit and fresh plums and a hint of almonds in the elegant finish. G.D. Vajra Dolcetto d'Alba is a delightful red wine with a full and velvety texture.

Additional Information
Aldo Vajra has always been a bit rebellious. And rightly so, because this trait has led to this beautiful winery with its authentic wines. The story begins when, at the age of fifteen, Aldo is pulled off the street by his father during a demonstration in Turin and sent to his grandparents' farm. Aldo spends that summer a lot of time in the vineyards, where his interest in winemaking is sparked. He joins Suole e Salute, an organization for organic wines in Italy. At just 18 years old, he makes his first organic wines in Piedmont.
Dolcetto needs time and warmth to fully develop. Originally, this grape was planted in the vineyards above Nebbiolo, allowing it to ripen slowly without losing its fresh fruit notes. Over the years, many winemakers in this region have uprooted Dolcetto, but the Vajras cherish this grape as a characteristic face of Piedmont.
The grapes come from various high-altitude vineyards. After harvesting, fermentation takes 15 to 20 days, during which the skins are regularly submerged in the must. After fermentation, it matures for several months in stainless steel, thus preserving the lively, fruity aromas of the Dolcetto as much as possible.
