Vajra Barolo Albe is a classic Barolo with an aromatic scent of red berries, raspberries, and blackberries, complemented by sweet spices and notes of rosehip. The taste is lively and complex yet beautifully balanced, with characteristic soft tannins and an elegant, lingering finish.

This Barolo from Vajra loves truffles, mushrooms, game dishes, red and stewed meat, rib-eye, lamb, and aged cheeses, such as Parmesan. A perfect dinner wine!

Additional Information

Aldo Vajra has always been a bit rebellious. And rightly so, as this trait has led to this magnificent winery with its authentic wines. The story begins when Aldo, at fifteen, is pulled off the streets by his father during a demonstration in Turin and sent to his grandparents' farm. Aldo spends that summer a lot of time in the vineyards, where his interest in winemaking is sparked. He joins Suole e Salute, an organization for organic wines in Italy. By the age of 18, he is already making his first organic wines in Piedmont.

The name "Albe" is a tribute to the beautiful wines from this region and refers to the location of the vineyards, from southeast to southwest, allowing the vines to be awakened three times by the rising sun. The differences in soil and location give the wine enormous complexity and layers. The vineyards are located at an altitude of about 380 to 480 meters. Large temperature differences between day and night ensure that the grapes ripen slowly and evenly.
