Wonderfully sultry, this Italian Torre del Falasco Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore. A seductive bouquet of plums, cherries, wild berries, liquorice, tobacco, and blossoms. On the palate, a slightly sweet entry of ripe fruit, baking spices, and liquorice, with soft tannins and an exceptionally long finish that commands respect.

Additional information

Ripasso means 're-passed', a process where Valpolicella wine is passed over the pressed skins of an Amarone. The wine is made from Corvina Veronese, Corvinone, and Rondinella grapes, has aged for at least one year in oak barrels, and can easily be cellared for another 7 years. Superiore means that the wine has 1% more alcohol than the "regular" version.

Cantine de Valpantena (responsible for the Torre del Falasco wines) is known for its excellent price-quality ratio. In 2017, Cantine de Valpantena was named the third-best Italian wine cooperative by the renowned magazine Weinwirtschaft.
