This Torre del Falasco Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore is delightfully sensual and Italian. Seductive aromas of plums, cherries, wild berries, liquorice, tobacco, and blossoms. On the palate, a slightly sweet start of ripe fruit, baking spices, and liquorice, soft tannins, and an exceptionally long finish.

Wine & Food

Not only a wonderful accompaniment to game, mushrooms, and stews, but also to cheeses, pastas, and even dishes with tomatoes and tomato sauces. It is also delightful to drink on its own later in the evening. In short, the choice for food pairing is vast.

Additional Information

Ripasso means "to pass again," and in this process, the Valpolicella is passed over the pressed skins of an Amarone. The wine is made from Corvina Veronese, Corvinone, and Rondinella grapes and has matured for at least 1 year in oak barrels and can easily be cellared for another 7 years. Superiore means that the wine has 1% more alcohol than the "regular" version.

Cantine de Valpantena (responsible for the wines of Torre del Falasco) are known for their excellent price-quality ratio. In 2017, Cantine de Valpantena was named the third best Italian Wine Cooperative in Italy by the renowned magazine Weinwirtschaft.
