A wonderfully sultry Italian wine, this Torre del Falasco Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore. Seductive aromas of plums, cherries, wild berries, liquorice, tobacco, and blossoms. On the palate, it has a slightly sweet entry of ripe fruit, baking spices, and liquorice, soft tannins, and an incredibly long finish that demands respect.   

Food & Wine

Not only a fine companion for game, mushrooms, and stews, but also for cheeses, pasta dishes, and even meals with tomatoes and tomato-based sauces. Furthermore, it is also delicious to drink on its own later in the evening. In short, the possibilities for food pairing are vast.

Additional information

Ripasso refers to the process of "re-passing," in which the Valpolicella is passed over the pressed skins of an Amarone. The wine is made from Corvina Veronese, Corvinone, and Rondinella grapes, has aged for at least 1 year in oak barrels, and can easily be cellared for another 7 years or so. Superiore indicates that the wine has 1% more alcohol than the "regular" version.

Cantine de Valpantena (responsible for the wines of Torre del Falasco) is known for its excellent price-quality ratio. Cantine de Valpantena was named the third-best Italian wine cooperative in Italy in 2017 by the renowned magazine Weinwirtschaft.
