The Valpantena, a valley northeast of Verona, has long been known as a wine-growing region. It lies in the heart of Veneto, one of Italy's most important wine-producing regions. Since 1958, Cantina Valpantena has been active here, a cooperative of 270 producers with 600 hectares of vineyards.

Valpantena's operations extend across the well-known trio of appellations around Verona: Soave, Bardolino, and Valpolicella, with the latter considered a specialty. From this appellation, they produce very interesting Amarone and Ripasso wines, among others.
