Tasting Notes Torre del Falasco Garganega
Challenging aroma with delicate notes of citrus fruit, almonds and spices. Full and creamy taste with a typical bitterness. The 3 months of oak aging complete it perfectly. This wine is not for nothing the best-selling wine in the range. A real winner!
Wine & Food Pairing
Delicious as an aperitif, but also suitable with salads (with fruit) and various fish and white meat dishes or Thai with pineapple. Do not drink this wine too cold, but at a pleasant temperature of 8 to 10 degrees. A delightful easy-drinking wine!
Additional Information
Garganega is an indigenous white grape variety from Italy, mainly grown in the northeast of the country, specifically in the provinces of Verona and Vicenza. In terms of distribution, this grape ranks 6th in Italy. It forms the basis of the white wine Soave.
The wine underwent modern white vinification with skin maceration, pneumatic pressing followed by temperature-controlled fermentation. 50% of the wine is aged for 3 months in oak. The grapes were harvested later than normal, making them extra concentrated and ripe.
The Valpantena, a valley northeast of Verona, has long been known as a wine-growing region. It lies in the heart of Veneto, one of Italy's most important wine-producing regions. Since 1958, Cantina Valpantena has been active here, a cooperative of 270 producers with 600 hectares of vineyards. Valpantena's area of operation extends over the well-known trio of appellations from the Verona area: Soave, Bardolino and Valpolicella, with the latter considered a specialty. From this appellation, they produce, among other things, very interesting Amarone and Ripasso wines.
Cantine de Valpantena, responsible for the wines of Torre del Falasco, are known for their good value for money and were named the third best Italian Wine Cooperative in Italy in 2017 by the renowned magazine Weinwirtschaft.
