Tasting Note Torre del Falasco Custoza Superiore
This authentic white wine comes from a lesser-known DOC in the Veneto region, Northern Italy. The aroma reveals white flowers, stone fruit, citrus, salinity, and a typical Italian bitterness. On the palate, the wine presents itself as soft yet firm, with an almost saline undertone and a pleasant bitter finish. Straw-yellow color. An absolute recommendation for the adventurous connoisseur!
Wine & Food
Torre del Falasco Custoza Superiore is very versatile and excellent for dishes with egg and freshwater fish. Try it in combination with a plate of Valeggio Tortellini or a Frittata con Erbette: A light omelet prepared with local wild herbs. The soft texture and spicy nuances of the frittata seamlessly complement the elegant aromas of the wine. Also very suitable for aperitivo with various antipasti and grilled fish with vegetables.
Additional Information
The grapes are harvested by hand to ensure their quality, followed by careful vinification. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks to preserve the fresh fruity aromas. The wine then ages for several months on the lees (yeast cells) to enhance complexity and texture, resulting in a wine that is both elegant and powerful.
Torre del Falasco Custoza Superiore comes from the Torre del Falasco winery, which has been producing wine for decades in the heart of the Custoza DOC region. The vineyards are located on the hills around Lake Garda, where the cool mountain climate ensures a slow ripening of the grapes, contributing to the development of complex flavors. The wine is made from a blend of indigenous Italian grape varieties.
The Valpantena, a valley northeast of Verona, has long been known as a wine-growing area. It lies in the heart of Veneto, one of Italy's most important wine-producing regions. Since 1958, Cantina Valpantena, a cooperative of 270 producers with 600 hectares of vineyards, has been active here.
Did you know...the name of the Torre del Falasco series comes from the bandit Falasco who roamed the valley around 1600 and hid in the hamlet of Stallavena?
