Tasting Notes Misty Cove Wild Daisy Pinot Noir
In the glass, a clear ruby red color. The aroma opens with expressive notes of red cherries, raspberries, and wild strawberries, followed by subtle floral tones and a light spiciness that add extra finesse.
On the palate, the wine is juicy, smooth, and elegant, with vibrant acidity, soft tannins, and a refined fresh finish. Its light and fruit-driven character makes this a particularly easy-drinking Pinot Noir that is excellent even when lightly chilled.
Wine & Food Pairing
Misty Cove Wild Daisy Pinot Noir pairs beautifully with charcuterie, poultry, grilled salmon, tuna, mushroom risotto, or Asian dishes with a light spiciness. Thanks to its elegant style, it is also an ideal aperitif wine for those who want to serve red outside of the classic heavy styles.
Additional Information
For the Wild Daisy Pinot Noir, Misty Cove deliberately opts for a fruit-forward, modern vinification style. The grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness and then fermented with a focus on preserving primary aromas and freshness. The wine matures without oak aging, so that the pure Pinot Noir fruit remains entirely central. The wine is then bottled young to maintain its vibrant, fresh, and juicy character.
Misty Cove is a boutique winery started by Andrew Bailey and his Dutch wife in 2008. They source their fruit from the best vineyards in Marlborough and Central Otago, creating pure and distinctive wines that have already distinguished themselves in numerous competitions.
Fun Fact
Wild Daisy is named after the wild indigenous flower that clings to the cliffs of the Marlborough Sounds.
