Tasting Note Misty Cove Pinot Noir

Misty Cove Pinot Noir has a lot of red fruit (strawberries, berries, raspberries) on the nose and is slightly smoky. The taste is elegant and fruity with a ripe tannin structure and a pleasantly long finish. The color is ruby red with a purple glow.

Wine & Food

Goes well with charcuterie, salmon, light poultry dishes, bean salad, sausage, mushrooms, salmon or a Boeuf Bourguignon.

Misty Cove is a boutique winery started by Andrew Bailey and his Dutch wife in 2008. They source their fruit from the best vineyards in Marlborough and Central Otago and use it to make pure and, above all, characteristic wines that have already distinguished themselves in a large number of competitions.

Andrew Bailey grew up in Marlborough where he developed a passion for the misty coves of Marlborough. That's why he named his wines after them and the company is located in this region. The Misty Cove Pinot Noir is made with the philosophy of reflecting the characteristics of both the grape and the region, Marlborough, as best as possible. The vines for this wine are kept low and planted in the Wairau Valley. The vineyards are small and very little irrigation is used to get the flavors as concentrated as possible.
