Tasting Note Luigi Baudana Barolo Serralunga
An elegant and distinctive Barolo DOCG made from 100% Nebbiolo from Serralunga d’Alba. The nose reveals aromas of red cherries, raspberries, and roses, complemented by notes of orange peel, spices, and a subtle balsamic touch.
On the palate, the wine is refined and powerful simultaneously. The vibrant acidity and fine, firm tannins provide structure, while the red fruit and spicy notes contribute to its elegance and length. A classic Barolo with the clear character of Serralunga.
Wine & Food Pairing
This Barolo loves truffles, mushrooms, game dishes, red and braised meats, rib-eye, lamb, and aged cheeses, such as Parmesan. A quintessential dinner wine!
Additional Information
The grapes come from Serralunga d’Alba, one of the most important municipalities within the Barolo region. Luigi Baudana's vineyards are located on unique soils that include calcareous marl and sandstone formations. This subsoil contributes to the wine's structure and mineral character.
Luigi and Fiorina Baudana bottled their first Barolo in 1996. In 2009, they entrusted their life's work to the Vaira family, the family behind the winery G.D. Vajra. Since then, the winery has been continued with respect for its original style.
The wine is made from Nebbiolo and undergoes a long maceration and aging, allowing the grape's firm tannins to develop into an elegant, complex structure.
