Tasting Notes La Chablisienne 1er Cru Mont de Milieu
In the glass, the Mont de Milieu displays a bright golden-yellow color, while the nose reveals aromas of ripe pears, citrus, and a hint of white flowers. The palate is full-bodied and rich, with a harmonious balance between fruity freshness and mineral notes, and a long, elegant finish with a subtle hint of toasted hazelnuts.
Wine & Food Pairing
Thanks to its expressive taste and structure, the wine pairs excellently with various dishes: crustaceans and shellfish such as mussels, oysters, or lobster, grilled fish like sea bream or sea bass, spicy chicken dishes, and creamy cheeses such as Brie or Camembert.
Additional Information
The La Chablisienne Chablis 1er Cru Mont de Milieu is an expressive Chardonnay from the Premier Cru vineyard Mont de Milieu in Chablis, originating from the renowned cooperative La Chablisienne, which has collaborated with over 200 winegrowers since 1923. The vineyard is located on the right bank of the Serein river and is known for its Kimmeridgian clay, which contributes to the wine's mineral freshness and elegant character. The grapes are carefully selected, and the wine ages for approximately twelve months, partly on fine lees in stainless steel tanks and partly in oak barrels, which gives the wine extra complexity and structure.
La Chablisienne is not only one of France's very best cooperatives, but it is also the calling card for wines from Chablis and its surroundings. In 1996, this was confirmed by the authoritative magazine "La Revue des Vins de France" by being chosen as the best cave cooperative in France.
The company alone accounts for approximately 30% of the total production and combines that with a range of impeccable quality, regardless of whether it is a simple Petit Chablis or a prestigious Grand Cru.
