Tasting Notes Kaiken Aventura Chacayes Sur
An intense ruby-red Malbec with aromas of ripe black cherries, plums, and blackberries, elegantly complemented by violets, spices, and a subtle mineral touch. The taste is rich and concentrated, with velvety tannins, fresh acidity, and a long, elegant finish where fruit and minerality beautifully converge.
Wine & Food
Kaiken Aventura Chacayes Sur is an excellent companion to grilled red meat, sirloin steak, or a beautiful barbecue ribeye. Lamb, game dishes, and slow-cooked stews also make a delicious combination. Thanks to its fresh acidity and refined structure, the wine also pairs perfectly with aged cheeses.
Additional Information
With the Aventura series, Kaiken demonstrates how terroir determines the character of Malbec. This wine comes from the southern part of Los Chacayes, where calcareous soils, large temperature differences, and high-altitude vineyards create a powerful yet refined style. The grapes are hand-harvested, and the wine ages for 12 months in concrete tanks, optimally preserving the pure fruit and minerality. The result is an elegant Malbec with ripe black cherries, floral notes, velvety tannins, and a long, fresh finish.
The symbol of Kaiken Wines is a species of goose called: Cauquén (the grey-headed goose), which is common in Patagonia and regularly crosses between Argentina and Chile. Aurelio Montes often made the same flight and saw the geese flying back and forth. During one of these flights, the name of the winery was born. How fitting!
