Tasting Notes Kaiken Aventura Chacayes Canota
Deep ruby red in color with intense aromas of ripe blackberries, black cherries, and plums, complemented by notes of violets, cocoa, graphite, and subtle spices. The taste is powerful and concentrated, yet refined and elegant. Ripe tannins, fresh acidity, and a long, mineral finish ensure excellent balance.
Wine & Food
This Kaiken Aventura Chacayes Canota Malbec is an ideal accompaniment to grilled red meat, lamb, and game dishes. The wine's powerful, elegant style also shines with a rich stew or a selection of aged hard cheeses.
Additional information
With the Aventura series, Kaiken demonstrates how differently Malbec can taste, depending on the terroir. This wine comes from the Valle de Canota, a unique valley at the foot of the Andes. Thanks to the warm, dry climate, the poor sandy soil, and cool nights, a Malbec emerges with intense fruit expression, elegant freshness, and a refined structure. After manual harvesting, the wine ages for 12 months in concrete tanks, optimally preserving its pure fruit character. The result is a powerful yet elegant Malbec with ripe cherries, dark fruit, velvety tannins, and a long, fresh finish.
The symbol of Kaiken Wines is a goose species called: Cauquén (the ash-headed goose), which is common in Patagonia and regularly crosses between Argentina and Chile. Aurelio Montes often made the same flight and saw the geese flying back and forth. During one of these flights, the name of the winery was born. How fitting!
Kaiken Wines was founded in 2001 by Aurelio Montes Sr., one of Chile's most famous winemakers, as he was instrumental in the great development of Chilean viticulture. He was one of the first – he himself convincingly claims to be the first – to give due attention to the concept of terroir and to plant vineyards on steep slopes.
