Tasting note Kaiken Aventura Chacayes Canota
Deep ruby red in color with intense aromas of ripe blackberries, black cherries, and plums, complemented by notes of violets, cocoa, graphite, and subtle spices. The palate is powerful and concentrated, yet refined and elegant at the same time. Ripe tannins, fresh acidity, and a long, mineral finish provide excellent balance.

With the Aventura series, Kaiken demonstrates how different Malbec can taste depending on its terroir. This wine comes from the Valle de Canota, a unique valley at the foot of the Andes. Thanks to the warm, dry climate, the poor sandy soil, and the cool nights, the result is a Malbec with intense fruit expression, elegant freshness, and a refined structure. After being hand-harvested, the wine matures for 12 months in concrete tanks, which optimally preserves the pure fruit character. The result is a powerful yet elegant Malbec with ripe cherries, dark fruit, velvety tannins, and a long, fresh finish.
The symbol of Kaiken Wines is a type of goose called: Cauquén (the upland goose), which is common in Patagonia and regularly crosses between Argentina and Chile. Aurelio Montes frequently made the same flight and watched the geese flying back and forth. During one of these flights, the name of the winery was born. How fitting!
Kaiken Wines was founded in 2001 by Aurelio Montes Sr., one of Chile's most famous winemakers, as he played a foundational role in the major development of Chilean viticulture. For instance, he was one of the first—he himself claims convincingly the very first—to give the concept of terroir the necessary attention and to plant vineyards on steep slopes.
