Additional information
The Vino Nobile is the calling card of the Boscarelli winery. Most of their bottles are produced from this wine. The wine has been made by the estate since 1968, and little has changed since then in the grape composition and the aging method and duration. The wine represents everything the estate stands for: freshness, elegance, complexity, and great aging potential.
The wine is made from 85% Sangiovese Prugnolo Gentile, supplemented with small percentages of Colorino, Canaiolo, and Mammolo. The grapes grow in vineyards with alluvial and sandy soils rich in lime, clay, silt, and stones. The vines are at least 10 years old.
After manual harvesting, the wine ferments spontaneously in large oak barrels. This ensures a beautiful integration of the wood into the wine. After fermentation, the wine is transferred to 500-liter Allier barrels and large Slavonian oak barrels, where it ages for 18 to 24 months. The different wines are carefully blended to create this elegant Vino Nobile.
