Tasting Notes BIO Menade Verdejo

This refined Verdejo shimmers in the glass with a pale yellow color and subtle green reflections. The nose opens with invigorating aromas of citrus fruits, such as ripe lemon and grapefruit, enriched with hints of white flowers, freshly cut grass, bay leaf, fennel, and fresh herbs like thyme. On the palate, the dry, balanced structure stands out, with a lively acidity and a slightly bitter finish typical of the Verdejo grape.

Wine & Food Pairing

Thanks to its fresh, dry style and refreshing acidity, Menade Verdejo pairs excellently with light, summery dishes. Think white fish, shellfish, Asian dishes with delicate herbs, pasta with fish, salads, or goat cheese. Also highly suitable as an aperitif.

Additional Information

Menade comes from Bodegas Menade in Rueda, founded in 2005 by Alejandra, Marco, and Richard Sanz, the sixth generation of this wine family. The Verdejo grapes originate from vineyards with calcareous-clay and gravel soils at an altitude of approximately 700–800 m. The vines range from 18 to 30 years old.

Harvesting takes place at three different times (green hand harvest, hand during the day, mechanical/night), followed by direct cooling with dry ice and fermentation with native yeasts in stainless steel, followed by short aging "sur lie."
