Tasting Note BIO Menade Verdejo

This refined Verdejo shines in the glass with a light yellow color and subtle green reflections. The nose opens with invigorating aromas of citrus fruits, think ripe lemon and grapefruit enriched with hints of white flowers, freshly cut grass, bay leaf, fennel, and fresh herbs like thyme. On the palate, the dry, balanced structure stands out, with lively acidity and a slightly bitter finish characteristic of the Verdejo grape.

Thanks to its fresh, dry style and refreshing acidity, Menade Verdejo pairs perfectly with light, summery dishes. Think white fish, shellfish, Asian dishes with delicate herbs, pasta with fish, salads, or goat cheese. Also very suitable as an aperitif.

Additional Information

Menade comes from Bodegas Menade in Rueda, founded in 2005 by Alejandra, Marco, and Richard Sanz, the sixth generation of this wine family. The Verdejo grapes come from vineyards with limestone-clay and gravel soil at approximately 700–800 m altitude. The vines range from 18 to 30 years old.

Harvest takes place at three different times (green hand harvest, hand-harvest during the day, mechanical/night), followed by immediate cooling with dry ice and fermentation with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel, followed by short aging "sur lie".
