Tasting note BIO Menade Verdejo

This refined Verdejo sparkles in the glass with a light yellow color and subtle green reflections. The nose opens with invigorating aromas of citrus fruits, such as ripe lemon and grapefruit, enriched with hints of white flowers, freshly mown grass, bay leaf, fennel, and fresh herbs like thyme. On the palate, its dry, balanced structure stands out, with a lively acidity and a slightly bitter finish that is typical of the Verdejo grape.

Food Pairing

Thanks to its fresh, dry style and refreshing acidity, Menade Verdejo pairs excellently with light, summery dishes. Think of white fish, shellfish and crustaceans, Asian dishes with delicate spices, pasta with fish, salads, or goat cheese. Also very suitable as an aperitif.

Additional information

Menade comes from Bodegas Menade in Rueda, founded in 2005 by Alejandra, Marco, and Richard Sanz, the sixth generation of this wine family. The Verdejo grapes come from vineyards with limestone-clay and pebble soils at an altitude of approximately 700–800 meters. The vines range from 18 to 30 years old.

The harvest takes place at three different times (green hand-harvest, hand-harvest during the day, mechanical/nocturnal), followed by direct cooling with dry ice and fermentation with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel, followed by short maturation "sur lie".
