Tasting Notes Barista Pinotage

Barista Pinotage has a beautiful, lovely, and intense Pinotage character without the burnt notes often found in Pinotage wines. Expressive nose with mocha tones, dark fruit, and spices. Full, rich flavor, with ripe and dried fruit, mulberries, maraschino cherries, plums, vanilla, and spices. Temperamental in taste. With soft, sultry tannins and a slight bitterness in the finish. Very dark red.

Wine & Food

Enjoy on its own, but also delicious with food. Such as smoked dishes: 'pulled pork' or smoked duck, for example. Other options include Mediterranean meals with peppers and aubergines, rustic French bistro food, or classic Italian like pizza and lasagna. Feel free to serve it with a spicy curry too. Of course, a classic South African 'braai' remains the all-time favorite.

Additional information

The wine originates from Franschhoek South Africa. The creator of this wine is Bertus Fourie, a versatile wine personality. He is also known as ‘Mister Starbucks’ due to the unprecedented progress he has made in coffee-Pinotage. Bertus developed Barista in collaboration with Vinimark The Wine Company, the largest independent wine wholesaler in South Africa, which represents, among others, the commercial interests of the Boekenhoutskloof winery and Reyneke.
