Tasting Notes Barista Black Pinotage
This Barista Black Pinotage has a deep, dark red color with subtle purple hues. The nose offers a rich bouquet of plums, cherries, dark berries, complemented by aromas of coffee, chocolate, vanilla, and baking spices. On the palate, it is juicy and velvety smooth, with elegant, well-integrated tannins and a refined balance between fruit, spices, and oak.
Wine & Food Pairing
Barista Pinotage pairs perfectly with: grilled red meat or game such as venison, hare, leg of lamb, duck, or creamy hard cheeses or rich stews. Of course, a classic South African 'braai' remains the all-time favorite.
Other information
Barista Black is a great example of modern and high-quality Pinotage. The grapes come from a 20-year-old bush vine vineyard in Swartland. After fermentation in stainless steel, the wine matured for 18 months in barriques, 20% of which were new French oak.
