Tasting note Waterkloof Circle of Life red
In the glass, a deep ruby red color. The nose opens with notes of blackcurrant, blackberries, dark plums and a hint of clove, graphite and violets. On the palate, the wine is elegant and layered, with soft tannins, fresh acidity and flavors of dark fruit, subtle spices, leather and a touch of oak. The finish is long, smooth and refined.
Food Pairing
Waterkloof Circle of Life red is delicious with grilled red meat, stews, lamb chops, duck, game, roasted vegetables or eggplant with Provençal herbs. It is also excellent with aged cheeses or a mushroom risotto.

Waterkloof Estate of False Bay wines was purchased by Paul Boutinot. Boutinot. What and who is Boutinot? It would be better to ask: what is he not? Domaine Boutinot is a very large wine producer. One with reach across the globe, exporting to 40 countries. His "home base" and wine heart lie in the Southern Rhône, but he also has holdings in England, Piedmont and South Africa. Boutinot has his affairs excellently in order!
Waterkloof is situated on the cool, windswept slopes of the Schapenberg in Somerset West, Stellenbosch, just three kilometers from the ocean. All vineyards are located about 300 meters above sea level. Here, the grapes have all the time to ripen slowly, resulting in brilliant freshness and complexity.
