Tasting Note Tornatore Pietrarizzo Etna Bianco
The Tornatore Pietrarizzo Etna Bianco has a bright straw-yellow color with fine green nuances. The nose brings together notes of white fruit, citrus, and light floral accents, complemented by a subtle spiciness. The palate is full and juicy, with a lively freshness and a clear mineral touch that reflects the volcanic terroir. The finish is long and refined, with fresh citrus and a hint of honey that linger elegantly.

Tornatore Pietrarizzo Etna Bianco is particularly well-suited to dishes that highlight its freshness, minerality, and aromatic complexity. Think of grilled or pan-fried white fish, shellfish, ceviche, or mussels. Other information
The Tornatore wine estate was established by Francesco Tornatore, who made his fortune in telecommunications. It was not until the 21st century that he created a beautiful wine estate in Castiglione di Sicilia, located on the northern side of Mount Etna on volcanic soil.
However, Francesco's great-grandfather had already planted vineyards in 1865, meaning Tornatore can not only boast over 150 years of experience, but also possesses some old vines. Tornatore works exclusively with native grape varieties, namely Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio for red, and Carricante for white, including manual harvesting.
Sicily is quite warm, but Tornatore’s vineyards are located at such high altitudes, between 600 and 1,000 meters, that the wine achieves remarkable freshness and elegance. In the cellar, nothing is left to chance in the pursuit of making great wines.
Etna Pietrarizzo Bianco from the Tornatore winery is a masterpiece in its own right. The volcanic terroir of Etna in Sicily, the altitude at which the grapes are grown, the manual harvesting, and the low-temperature fermentation are all elements that contribute to a great wine. This wine is harvested by hand, fermented in large 50-hectoliter wooden vats, and aged for approximately five months on the lees (fecce), which provides extra complexity and a full texture.

The Pietrarizzo is a pure Carricante from the northern slope of Mount Etna. The grapes grow on volcanic soils, and the wine is aged for approximately five months on fine lees in large oak vats. This creates a special combination of freshness, briny minerality, and complexity.
