Tasting Notes Terrissimo Beaumes de Venise red
The aroma is dominated by a spicy palette of red fruits such as plums, cherries, and blackcurrants. On the palate, the wine opens up with flavors of cherries, licorice, anise, and cinnamon. Smooth, soft, and with refined, warm tannins. Sparkling, garnet red in color.
Wine & Food
The spices in the wine can be well reflected in the dishes you serve with it. Arabian and North African cuisines are therefore good options. Courgette tagine, sweet potatoes, dishes with dried fruits, spiced meatballs with tomato-paprika sauce, Moroccan chicken with oranges, or Arabian rice with chicken, almonds, and raisins. Or surprisingly good as an appetizer with Arabian wraps with dates and cream cheese.
Additional information
Gigondas la Cave made a significant contribution to obtaining its own appellation (1971) and has since been very successful at various quality levels. For a long time (16th and 17th centuries), Gigondas belonged to the "Pincipauté d'Orange" where the Nassau family reigned. Louis XIV put an end to that, but otherwise, we might have had a true wine-growing culture in the Netherlands as well.
The Cave of Gigondas was founded in 1956 and made a significant contribution to this region obtaining its own appellation in 1971. It is a modern company in a very traditional environment. With a share of almost 80%, Grenache Noir is dominant here. In addition, Syrah and Mourvèdre determine the composition of the various wines.
In addition to Beaumes-de-Venise, this cooperative also produces a number of excellent wines from the neighboring villages of Vacqueyras and Gigondas.
