Tasting Notes Terre del Noce Pinot Grigio
A full aroma with plenty of yellow fruit (nectarine and pineapple) and the characteristic almond notes. The taste is beautifully rounded, with elements of flowers, ripe citrus fruit, and a lovely balance, making it a pleasant house wine. In short, a crisp, dry Pinot Grigio with good length. A delightful, easy-drinking wine!
Wine & Food
This fresh Pinot Grigio Terre del Noce pairs well with antipasti, light fish dishes, salads, lasagna, or even a piece of Pecorino cheese.
Additional information
The northern Italian region of Trentino is pre-eminently the territory for this popular grape variety. The vineyards of this Pinot Grigio stretch along the Noce river, at the foot of the fairytale Dolomite mountains. Just before harvest, the copper-colored grape bunches are already a sight to behold. The gentle character of this modern wine is key to its popularity. Reliable and recognizable year after year.
The wine is mildly dry and readily offers delicate, yellow fruit notes and hints of white blossom. Loved for its soft acidity, which provides enough freshness. And not to forget its modest alcohol content. A winner as a young house and aperitif wine, performing excellently at a temperature of 10-12 degrees Celsius.
Mezzacorona was one of the first cooperatives in Italy and today represents a large group of wineries from the far north (Trentino) to the deep south (Sicily).
Did you know: the mountains act as natural air conditioning?
The vineyards of Terre del Noce are located at the foot of the Dolomites. During the day, the valley absorbs the Italian sun, but at night, the icy mountain air flows downwards. This enormous temperature difference (diurnal variation) ensures that the grapes retain their fresh acidity and aromas. Without those cold nights, the wine would taste much less "crisp"!
