The vineyards for this Merlot are nestled in the sun-drenched valleys of the Adige, at the foot of the impressive Dolomites. What is unique about this area is the combination of a Mediterranean microclimate with the cooling influence of the mountains. This results in a slower ripening process, allowing the Merlot grape to develop not only its characteristic soft fruit but also a remarkable elegance and freshness rarely found in warmer regions.

The winery Mezzacorona was one of the first cooperatives in Italy and today represents a large group of wineries from the far north (Trentino) to the deep south (Sicily).

Vinification: In the cellar, a traditional vinification with a short maceration on the skins is chosen. This process extracts the deep red color and the velvety tannins from the grape, without making the wine rough. The result is a 'cool climate' Merlot: lighter in style, juicier, and with a focus on pure red fruit instead of heavy oak notes or a high alcohol percentage.
