Tasting Note Talamonti Trabocchetto Pecorino Colline Pescaresi
Beautiful nose with lots of white fruit, such as pear and apple, fine mineral acidity, citrus, a hint of butter, jasmine flowers and a long, soft finish of citrus and pepper. The taste offers aromas of cherry blossom, acacia, pears, lime and jasmine, complemented by green peppers, Mediterranean herbs and lovage. This Talamonti Trabocchetto Pecorino is deliciously dry. A pale yellow colour.
Wine & Food
Talamonti Trabocchetto Pecorino pairs well with salads such as a pear and blue cheese salad, salmon, fish dishes and light poultry.
Additional Information
Pecorino, normally known for its cheeses, is also a grape variety, particularly in Abruzzo. This top-notch wine comes from the region nestled between the Apennines and the Adriatic Sea! Talamonti strives for perfection in everything they do.
The company has its own laboratory to closely monitor all steps of the vinification process. Typical of the style of their wines is their full and round character. The term Trabocchetto was chosen because it refers to a traditional fishing technique from Abruzzo.
The vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on limestone and sandstone soils in Abruzzo. The grapes for this white wine from Italy are harvested exclusively by hand when perfectly ripe. After harvesting, the grapes are immediately brought to the press, where they are selected and carefully crushed. This is followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Once fermentation is complete, the Talamonti Trabocchetto Pecorino can rest for a few more months on its fine lees.
