Tasting note Talamonti Aternum Trebbiano
The nose offers an abundance of fruit, such as citrus and apple, and various herbs, including tarragon and sage. On the palate, there is a beautiful concentration with vibrant, ripe acidity and salty minerals. Very long, full, and round finish. Light yellow color. In short, a beautiful Trebbiano with enormous juiciness and structure.
Wine & Food
Perfect white wine for many occasions. Pairs well with salads, white fish, shellfish, veal, and roasted chicken, but is also delightful to simply enjoy on its own.
Additional information
Talamonti is among the best and has received numerous awards for its wines. Typical of their style are the full and rounded wines. Cantine Talamonti was founded in 2001 by a group of entrepreneurs, driven by their love for wine and their beloved Abruzzo region.
They employ the most modern vinification methods to produce wines without compromising tradition. The wine is cultivated around the Italian town of Loreto Aprutino, where the best wines originate. The incredible variety of climate and vineyard location allows for the production of versatile grape varieties such as Trebbiano d’Abruzzo, Montepulciano, and, since 2009, Pecorino.
At Talamonti, they wonderfully succeed in producing modern wines from these traditional grapes that are appreciated by both wine lovers and connoisseurs. It's no wonder they are considered one of Abruzzo's leading estates by the international wine press.
The Abruzzo region is located in the east of Italy, at the same latitude as Rome. Here lies the highest part of the Apennines, with mountain peaks of nearly 3000 meters. This region has its own customs and dialects. With approximately 34,000 hectares, Abruzzo's vineyard area is not very large.
Nevertheless, producers make a large quantity of wine: in terms of volume, Abruzzo is among the top in Italy. This is because a lot of mass-produced wines have been made here for a long time: supermarket wines and bulk wines used for other purposes such as distillation and vermouth production. However, this is changing as important Italian producers are investing in this wine region.
In the area, sometimes a cold, strong wind blows from the northeast (the 'bora') or a hot wind from the southeast (the 'scirocco'). Due to these extreme weather influences, the results vary greatly from year to year.
