Tasting note Saint-Louis Les Grandes Tablées Blanc
N.B. this is the successor to the Little Big White Wine; exactly the same wine, just a new name + label.
The nose reveals exciting aromas such as ginger, truffle, toasted nuts, thyme, and even cocoa beans. On the palate, it is refreshed by tropical fruit, apple, pear, and the floral hints of Viognier. A grand wine with finesse. Pale yellow in color. Santé
Food pairing
A true dinner wine, this Saint-Louis Les Grandes Tablées Blanc pairs well with oysters and other shellfish and crustaceans. It also goes well with cheeses, such as goat cheese or French Cantal or Comté, or with other appetizers from Mediterranean cuisine.
Additional information
The Costières de Nîmes vineyard is located in the South of France, in the Gard department, north of the Camargue and southeast of Nîmes. The Costières de Nîmes Appellation belongs to the vineyards of the Rhône Valley, although this AOC was previously classified as part of the Languedoc.
According to historians, the Costières de Nîmes vineyard is one of the oldest in France. The first vines were planted in this region by the Phoenicians. The Greeks and Romans continued this development, and later, Benedictine monks ensured the planting of the right grape varieties, suited to the soil and climate. The sea breeze ensures fruity and healthy grapes with plenty of aromas. The large sandstone pebbles in the soil provide optimal grape ripening, which enables the winemaker to produce one of the finest Rhône Valley wines.
The wine is aged for 3 months in new barrique barrels. This is why you notice a mature, elegant toasted flavor. This complex Saint-Louis Les Grandes Tablées Blanc is a blend of: Grenache Blanc, Roussanne, and Viognier.
