Tasting Note Perdeberg The Vineyard Collection Grenache Noir
An elegant and fruity red wine made from 100% Grenache Noir from Paarl, South Africa. The aroma reveals red berries, cherries, and spicy notes. The taste is fresh and lively, with juicy red fruit, a smooth structure, and soft tannins. It is a modern, approachable style of Grenache: fruity and aromatic, yet with enough freshness and structure to keep the wine interesting.
Wine & Food
A versatile red wine that pairs excellently with duck, roasted chicken, and grilled meats. It is also a beautiful combination with spicy dishes, barbecue, and Mediterranean cuisine.
Other information
The wine is part of The Vineyard Collection from Perdeberg. For this series, grapes are used from specific vineyard blocks, with the character of the grape and the terroir being central.
The grapes come from Paarl and are sourced from dry-farmed vineyards. The vines receive no artificial irrigation and are dependent on natural rainfall. According to Perdeberg, this method of viticulture results in grapes with a high natural flavor concentration. Grenache Noir is known for its ability to cope well with warm, dry conditions, making the grape particularly suitable for the climate of Paarl.

Fun fact
Grenache Noir is a true world traveler. The grape is mainly known from Southern France and Spain but also thrives in the warm, dry climate of South Africa. For this wine, Perdeberg uses dry-farmed vines in Paarl, which gives a completely different expression of Grenache than, for example, from the Rhône or Priorat.
