Tasting Note Perdeberg Dry Land Collection Barrel Fermented Chenin Blanc
The nose offers aromas of citrus, pear, peach, pineapple, lychee, and vanilla. Followed by beautiful acidity that also lingers on the finish. South African Chenin Blanc that has been fermented and aged in French oak. This gives the wine a rich texture and aromatic scent and taste. A wine that can easily be aged for up to five years.
Wine & Food Pairing
Its aromatic style and fine acidity make this an excellent white dinner wine. Delicious with a fish casserole, creamy dishes, a chicken curry, or a well-stocked cheese board.

Perdeberg Cellar Dry Land Collection Barrel Fermented Chenin Blanc is a wine that belongs to the Dry Land Collection. The grapes for this Chenin Blanc are hand-harvested from approximately 35-year-old bushvine vineyards in the Paarl area.
Harvest takes place in the early morning when the temperature is still pleasantly cool. The soils of these vineyards consist mainly of decomposed granite and Malmesbury shale. These soils are deep and firm in structure. The vineyards used little to no irrigation and were primarily dependent on winter rainfall.
In July 2021, Perdeberg in South Africa celebrated its 80-year milestone in the wine industry. Perdeberg, founded in 1941, is known for producing remarkable 'dry land' wines. The company was born when owner Jan Rossouw brought farmers in the region together with the vision of making their own wines instead of selling their grapes.
