Tasting note Nittnaus Selection Zweigelt
The seductive color is just the beginning. Raspberries and strawberries on the nose, a hint of aromatic spices, fresh and fruity on the palate, lively acidity, light-footed and with great drinkability. This wine is so fresh, yet it has just that little bit of grip, making it a rosé for all occasions.
Food pairing
Nittnaus Zweigelt Rosé is delicious on its own, but also pairs excellently with salads with goat cheese and fresh bread, or grilled shrimp with piri-piri spices.
Other information
Zweigelt is a cross between Blaufränkisch and Sankt Laurent grapes from Burgenland. The latter grape variety is best compared to Pinot Noir. Normally, we usually see this combination in the bottle as a red wine, but this time the Nittnaus brothers have ventured into making an organic rosé from it. A great success, I would say!
The Nittnaus brothers' winery is located in Gols, the largest wine-growing region in Austria. The family has owned vineyards here for over 300 years. The youngest generation has been at the helm since 1986 and has clearly divided the tasks. The unique microclimate around Lake Neusiedl, combined with the highly varied soils, provides an excellent basis for producing quality wines.
