Clear light yellow with green reflections. The nose offers fresh citrus (lime, grapefruit), green apple, and white peach, complemented by blossom and a slight spiciness. Subtle mineral notes and a hint of petrol (typical Riesling) are present in the background. On the palate, it is bone dry with vibrant acidity, juicy fruit, and a beautiful balance between freshness and ripeness. Invigorating finish with citrus zest and light minerality.

Wine & Food Pairing

Nittnaus Selection Riesling is very versatile: ideal with sushi and sashimi, oysters and other shellfish, grilled or steamed white fish, and light fish dishes with citrus sauce. Also a good match for Asian cuisine (Thai or Vietnamese dishes with lime, coriander, and mild chili), fresh salads, asparagus, and soft goat cheese.

Additional Information

Originating from Burgenland, where the relatively warm climate ensures riper fruit, while cool nights preserve acidity. Made from 100% Riesling, typically fermented in stainless steel to maintain primary aromas and freshness. Style: modern, pure, and accessible, with an emphasis on drinkability. Serve at 8–10 °C. Drink within 3–5 years for optimal freshness, but it can age slightly and then develop more petrol and honey notes.

The Nittnaus brothers' winery is located in Gols, the largest wine region in Austria. The family has owned vineyards here for over 300 years. The youngest generation has been at the helm since 1986 and has clearly divided responsibilities. The unique microclimate around Lake Neusiedl, combined with the highly varied soils, provides an excellent basis for producing quality wines.
