Tasting Note Nittnaus Selection Chardonnay
The nose offers ripe apple, peach, and melon, complemented by citrus and a subtle hint of nuts and mild spice. On the palate, it is soft and rounded with juicy yellow fruit, mild acidity, and a slight creaminess without being heavy. Balanced and approachable, with a fresh, lightly fruity finish.
Wine & Food Pairing
This Nittnaus Chardonnay pairs well with grilled chicken, turkey, creamy pasta dishes, risotto, and soft cheeses. It's also lovely with salmon, tuna, and other richer fish varieties. Its versatility makes it suitable as a house wine.
Additional Information
Originating from Burgenland. Made from 100% Chardonnay, typically fermented in stainless steel (sometimes partly in wood depending on the vintage) to preserve fruit and ensure a soft structure. Style: round, smooth, and modern with an emphasis on drinkability. Serve around 8–10 °C. Drink within 3–4 years.
The Nittnaus brothers' winery is located in Gols, the largest wine-growing region in Austria. The family has owned vineyards here for over 300 years. The youngest generation has been at the helm since 1986 and has clearly divided the tasks. The unique microclimate around Lake Neusiedl, combined with the very varied soils, provides an excellent basis for producing quality wines.
