Nittnaus Eiswein Exquisit has intense aromas of dried apricots, ripe gooseberries, honey, and sweet spices. On the palate, exotic fruit notes reminiscent of pineapple, passion fruit, lychee, papaya, and figs. Beautiful yellow color.
Wine & Food Pairing
This Eiswein from Nittnaus is a fantastic choice with foie gras, blue cheese, crème brûlée, and for example, grilled or flambéed pineapple with pineapple sorbet.
Additional Information
For this specialty, the selected grapes were harvested at temperatures below freezing (-9° C), i.e., when they were frozen. During pressing, the sugar-rich juice was thus separated from the ice. Fermentation is stopped by cooling and filtering, achieving an alcohol content of only 9%. Subsequently, the highly concentrated must is used to create an elegant Eiswein.
Nittnaus Eiswein Exquisit is the crème de la crème of Nittnaus. A delicious Eiswein, preceded by a very complex and time-consuming process. Nittnaus is therefore very proud of this Eiswein. It is the embodiment of Nittnaus' craftsmanship. This is further confirmed by the gold medal this dessert wine has won at the Berliner Wine Trophy.
The Nittnaus brothers' winery is located in Gols, the largest wine-growing region in Austria. The family has owned vineyards here for over 300 years. The youngest generation has been at the helm since 1986 and has clearly divided responsibilities. The unique microclimate around Lake Neusiedl, combined with the very varied soils, provides an excellent basis for making quality wines.
